Ten Vin Diesel look-alikes chant family 100 times in a bizarre video. The actor is best known for his role as Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise, appearing in this past summer’s F9: The Fast Saga, which still stands as one of the highest-grossing Hollywood movies released during the pandemic. Diesel is also known for voicing Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy and other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
From relatively humble beginnings in 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, a mid-budget movie primarily focused on illegal street racing, Diesel has starred as Dom in almost every installment of what has become a massive media franchise centered around complex heists, over-the-top action, and of course, family. Outside of the Fast Saga, Diesel hasn’t had much luck with starting other franchises, with films like The Chronicles of Riddick and Babylon A.D. flopping at the box office. That hasn’t stopped Diesel from trying though, recently portraying Bloodshot in a 2020 superhero film adaptation.
A recent two-hour livestream from the car-centric YouTube channel Donut Media ended with a bizarre tribute to Diesel’s Fast & Furious character and his unabating love for family. The tribute consists of ten Diesel impersonators in costume as Dom, replete with his black tank top, sunglasses, and crosses hanging from their necks, who stand in formation chanting the word “Family” in unison a total of 100 times. Watch the video below:
While the strangest moment came during the final minutes, the ten Diesel look-alikes were hired for the entirety of the two-hour livestream, reciting additional Fast & Furious quotes throughout the show. The impersonators even participated in a Vin Diesel fashion show which saw each one take turns running down the catwalk as their fellow Diesels looked on. However, the most memorable moment was their tribute to Dom’s love of family.
Dom Toretto’s dedication and love for his heist crew has inspired plenty of Fast & Furious memes in recent years poking fun at how Dom often overemphasizes the point, with the word “family” being spoken dozens of times in the franchise’s first seven installments. However, these familial bonds are not as strong behind-the-scenes with some of the Fast & Furious cast. Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson’s feud has been public for a while now, with the former recently making headlines with an impassioned plea urging the latter to return as Hobbs for Fast and Furious 10.
