Andrew Lincoln earned his place in TWD Family with his portrayal of Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead. He brought the comic book character to life on our screens, and fans feel his loss on the series. Lincoln is set to reprise his role in The Walking Dead movies, which has fans excited to see him back on screen.
In 2015, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln shared his favorite scene of the series. Rick Grimes was front and center on the series until the mid-season finale of season nine. Over that time, Rick has had many memorable scenes and made a mark in the series.
Many times Rick made the wrong choices, but more often than not, he did what was best for the group as a whole. This is what made him such a great leader.
Andrew Lincoln’s favorite Walking Dead scene
Lincoln has shared numerous times that Rick riding the horse into Atlanta is his favorite scene. Many fans can agree that this is one of Rick’s best. It gave a good indication of what the world had changed into and what Rick would come up against from this point forward.
The scale of this scene showed Lincoln that this series would be nothing like he had ever been involved in. They blocked off a four-block section that contained 400 walkers. He then rode his horse into that horde, was chanced by the walker, forced to hide in a tank, and he stated it was a dream come true.
He said that every day on set was a great day. Even when a character was being killed off, as sad as it was to lose them, the scenes that would play out their deaths were outstanding. He said overall; it is beautiful but heartbreaking as they act out this “broken fairytale.”
The hope is that the movies will kick into gear as soon as the flagship series production is complete. Fans have been waiting for so very long to see these movies finally be produced, and it will be good to know that things start to progress so we can once again see Rick Grimes on our screens.
