Gal Gadot Reveals Her Rigorous Workout Routine For ‘Wonder Woman 1984’
In addition, to the vigorous stunt work and hours-long gym sessions, the star followed a strict diet plan that would help her gain strength.

On Christmas Day, the highly anticipated movie Wonder Woman 1984 premiered on HBO Max. For the movie, Gal Gadot had to follow an intense workout regime in order to play the role of Wonder Woman.
“When I worked out for Wonder Woman it was much more intensive and broad. For six months, we prepped for the movie where I [would] wake up every morning, drink Smartwater, go to the gym, and work out,” Gadot told Good Housekeeping. “I did a lot of strength training, cardio, stunt choreography, and flexibility work.”
“For the first time with this movie, I incorporated Pilates into my workout routine, because I feel like there’s something so holistic about pilates and opening your rib cage and actually focusing on breathing,” she continued.
In addition, to the vigorous stunt work and hours-long gym sessions, the star followed a strict diet plan that would help her gain strength for the rigorous workout sessions.
“Usually, when I start a project, and again it depends on how long the project is, I try to stay very healthy,” she explained. “I am big on veggies, I love salads…I try to keep it high in protein and low in carbs.”
When shooting ran late and Gadot needed a heavier meal on set, though, she always turned to her favorite. “I always go for grilled cheese,” she said. “Grilled cheese with Manchego cheese inside. It’s so good!”
When she is not filming, Gadot tries to meditate and go on walks whenever she can. “It’s all about balancing your life mentally, emotionally, physically, and creatively. And stay hydrated at the same time, obviously. But it’s all about finding more time for yourself,” she said.
She continued, “When I put my oldest [daughter, Alma] to bed, there are those apps with the guided meditations that I’ll play for her, and we’ll both fall asleep. I think that’s a great thing to do with your child.”
Lastly, she makes it her main priority to stay hydrated. “I drink a lot. The moment I wake up in the morning I make sure I drink. When I work on sets, I drink all the time. I do it honestly at every break that I have, even when I’m not thirsty. It’s so important,” she said.
If you want to see Gadot’s hard work paying off, Wonder Woman 1984 is available now on HBO Max.
