Kylie and Stassie Karanikolaou have a very long history as friends but life has changed for them in 2022.
Anyone who keeps up with Kylie Jenner knows who her bestie Anastasia Karanikolaou is. In fact, back in 2019 and 2020, the two ladies posted plenty of stunning photos together on Instagram, and they quickly became known for their matching looks. Both ladies have an impressive social media presence, although of course, Kylie Jenner is way more famous.
A quick scroll through Kylie Jenner’s Instagram feed will reveal that the reality television star and makeup mogul hasn’t posted a photo with her best friend Stassie since January 2021 — at least not to her feed. How Did Kylie Jenner And Anastasia Karanikolaou Meet?
Stassie has been a big part of Kylie Jenner’s social media presence for years, but many fans are surely wondering just how long the two ladies have known each other. Last year, Stassie revealed that she met Kylie in Barnes & Noble, and they became best friends during a middle school sleepover.
In an interview with Bustle, Stassie revealed that the two have been in each other’s lives since they were 13. “It’s nuts because I’m like, ‘I’ve known this girl since I was literally 13. If you think that [because] we don’t post a photo together for a month we’re not friends, you’re insane,” she said.
There is no doubt that Stassie became more popular thanks to Kylie Jenner whose Instagram she frequently appeared on. They would often rock matching outfits for their nights out, and they would always snap plenty of pictures some of which they would end up sharing on the photo-sharing social media platform.
In the caption for one of them, Kylie Jenner wrote: “We’ve been twinning since we were in middle school. We used to never leave the house unless we had a matching outfit on… so get ready for a lifetime of more twin pics.” The two posted numerous photos in which they were wearing similar outfits all through 2019 and 2020, and it certainly seemed as if Stassie replaced Kylie Jenner’s former best friend Jordyn Woods after the whole Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson scandal.
However, once 2021 came around, plenty were quick to notice that Kylie Jenner and Anastasia Karanikolaou weren’t appearing on each other’s social media nearly as much.
Are Kylie Jenner And Stassie Still Friends?
Because Kylie and Stassie stopped posting photos together for a while, most fans jumped to the conclusion that something must have happened between the two. However, at an Oscar’s afterparty this March, Stassie Karanikolaou was spotted hanging out with Kylie Jenner’s sisters Khloé and Kim Kardashian, which leads to believe that the two ladies are still friends
Apart from this, last month Kylie Jenner also attended the Sunny Vodka Launch Party in Los Angeles, which Stassie is a co-brand director for. A source for US Weekly revealed that Kylie was in a great mood, and she was smiling and laughing. “She looked fantastic and was in great spirits. She was too occupied with her friends, so she did not take any photos,” the source said.
In June 2021, Kendall and Kylie Jenner attended Stassie Karanikolaou’s 24th birthday, and they all seem to have had a blast. Kylie Jenner, of course, congratulated her bestie publically by posting a video of Stassie blowing out her birthday candles on Instagram Story, and she captioned it “happy bday stas [heart emoji].”
Judging from the fact that Kylie is still very supportive of Stassie and her business endeavors, and the fact that Stassie is hanging out with Kylie’s family, it’s safe to say that there is no bad blood between these two friends. Most likely, they just got tired of constantly wearing matching looks and posting them on Instagram.
After all, Kylie Jenner did recently go through a pregnancy which explains why she was under the radar for the second half of 2021. In September 2021, Jenner confirmed her pregnancy and in February 2022, she gave birth to her and Travis Scott’s second child, a son whose name Kylie Jenner recently revealed won’t be Wolf Webster after all. Being pregnant could definitely be a reason why Jenner hasn’t been seen publicly with her best friend too much last year.
Because both ladies have their hands full with work and their careers, perhaps they aren’t able to hang out as much as they did before. Or they simply just don’t document every single time they hand out on social media anymore. Either way, Kylie Jenner and Anastasia Karanikolaou are still very close friends.
