“Right, it comes with a lot of baggage! And a lot of nostalgic connections. But with that come a lot of exciting ways to attack it. People generally hear ‘Barbie’ and think, ‘I know what that movie is going to be,’ and then they hear that Greta Gerwig is writing and directing it, and they’re like, ‘Oh, well, maybe I don’t,'” the star said.
As you can imagine, a project of this nature is going to have quite the budget. Because of this, Margot Robbie was able to commend a fortune for her role in the movie.

So, how much money is Margot Robbie making to play the iconic Barbie on the big screen next year?
According to Giant Freakin Robot, “Margot Robbie is going to be sitting pretty in more ways than one for the upcoming Barbie movie. Robbie, who is playing the lead role, will be pulling in a $12.5 million salary for her efforts. This places her squarely as the top-paid actress in Hollywood right now, as reported by Variety.”
That is quite the deal for Robbie, who has already pocketed her fair share of large paychecks during her career. If there are other incentives involved, then this number will likely skyrocket once the movie hits theaters and competes with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
For interested parties, Ryan Gosling, who is co-starring in the film with Margot Robbie, is also making a ton for his time in the film.
“Her co-star Ryan Gosling, who will be playing the hunky Ken, is pulling in $12.5 million as well for his role. It seems like these lofty salaries will be well-earned, as the Barbie movie is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated comedies of 2023,” reports Giant Freakin Robot.
