In a recent episode of the Goop podcast, Scarlett Johansson discussed a chance meeting she had with Bill Murray, her co-star in the Oscar-winning film Lost in Translation. Johansson and her ex-boyfriend ran into Murray at a pub, and she admitted that they hadn’t seen each other in over a decade.
The actress went on to call the meeting therapeutic as they talked about their experiences working on the romantic comedy-drama together in 2003. But this meeting comes after Scarlett Johansson claimed that, when she was only 17, Murray gave her a hard time on set.
Scarlett Johansson Met Bill Murray in an Empty Bar

Johansson said she was shocked to see Bill Murray again after over a decade. She called it a “weird” moment and said she had to leave before working up the nerve to talk to him.
“I didn’t see him for a decade or more. It was a long time. And then I walked into a bar with my ex-boyfriend from a long time ago … and there was only one person at the bar and it was Bill Murray. It was so weird. I walked in, and I saw him sitting there — nobody else there — and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I had to walk out. I was like, ‘It’s Bill! I haven’t seen him in so long.’ “
Speaking with Murray, Scarlett Johansson found it “therapeutic” because it allowed them to process their experiences filming Lost in Translation together.
“It had been a decade of time, more than a decade of time. [I was] like ‘All right, I guess I’ll have to go and see what’s up.’ It was such a weird moment. It was like a dream. And then I went in there and he was also surprised. Actually, it was kind of therapeutic. We sort of talked through that time.”

Bill Murray’s Response
Murray has denied any wrongdoing, but other actors have spoken out about their unpleasant experiences with him, including Lucy Liu and Geena Davis. Green claimed that Murray regularly displayed disrespectful behavior and made inappropriate comments.
Despite the allegations, Murray enjoys widespread adulation in the Hollywood community. The actor has been working for over 40 years, and his filmography includes such classics as Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, and Groundhog Day.
