AI really is having its moment right now, and it seems every day there’s something new it’s doing.
From developing what the ‘perfect’ man and woman might look like to turning Shrek into a horror movie from the 80s and even turning Family Guy into an 80s live-action sitcom, it seems the tech buffs really aren’t having a day off at the moment.
This time, a digital artist has used cutting-edge generative AI Midjourney to recreate A-listers as babies and have left people in hysterics, terrified and scratching their heads all at once. Take a look:
Please can someone explain why this child version of Arnie has worry lines?
Okay, this one is actually really cute.
The late, great Robin Williams may be even cuter.
Okay, this is adorable.
Of course he already has facial hair.
It’s the hair for me.
“Marilyn Monroe is giving JonBenét Ramsey,” wrote one Reddit user.
He looks exactly the same, to be honest.
Introducing, ‘the pebble’.
Harry Potter, is that you?
“Yeah baby Brad looks like one of his real life children,” said another Reddit user.
Samuel L Jackson
Why do I feel like he’s really, really annoyed at me?
It’s hard to picture this cutie in Training Day.
So I’m presuming he was just born with a beard then? This is literally terrifying.
While AI may be providing us with a lot of laughs – and scares – some of the biggest players in the business actually want to pause its development due to its ‘profound risks’.
Elon Musk has joined the likes of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and Skype co-founder Jaan Tallinn, who have all signed an open letter demanding that all labs training AI systems stop for at least six months.
“Recent months have seen AI labs locked in an out-of-control race to develop and deploy ever more powerful digital minds that no one – not even their creators – can understand, predict or reliably control,” the letter reads.
“Powerful AI systems should be developed only once we are confident that their effects will be positive and their risks will be manageable.”
