‘This Is Unbelievable’: Gal Gadot Becomes First Israeli Actress to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Israeli actress and Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is among the entertainment industry professionals who have been selected to receive a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood, California, as part of the Class of 2024, it was announced on Monday.
The Petah Tikva native and former Miss Israel is receiving a star in the category of motion pictures and others who will receive the same honor include Chadwick Boseman, posthumously, Kevin Feige, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Chris Meledandri, Chris Pine, Christina Ricci and Michelle Yeoh. There are also recipients in the categories of television, live theatre/live performance, radio, recording, and sports entertainment.
Gadot will be the first Israeli actor or actress to receive the honor, Arutz Sheva reported.
The Red Notice star said in a video shared on Instagram that she was in the middle of doing press for her new Netflix film Heart of Stone when she received the news about getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“This is unbelievable,” the shocked actress said about being given the prestigious honor. “I am so, so thankful and grateful and humbled. Thank you, thank you, thank you. This brings so much fuel to the fuel I already have to continue doing what I love so much.”
Gadot added that Israeli President Isaac Herzog called to congratulate her. The president also shared a message with Gadot on Twitter, tagging her in a post and writing, “You were always a star.”
The Walk of Fame selection panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce chose the recipients who will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame located on Hollywood Boulevard in California. Dates have not been scheduled for the star unveiling ceremonies for the Class of 2024 and recipients have two years to schedule the event from the date of selection before the offer expires.
There are currently more than 2,700 stars on the Walk of Fame. There is also a $75,000 sponsorship fee that recipients must pay that will be used to cover the creation and installation of the star, and maintenance of the Walk of Fame.
