Nitara Announced as Playable Character in Mortal Kombat 1 with Megan Fox as Her Voice Actor

NetherRealm Studios has recently announced Nitara as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 1, with Megan Fox providing the voice for the character. Nitara, who last appeared in Mortal Kombat Armageddon, has undergone a redesign for MK1, with a new look that includes red hair and a more demonic armor design. However, her iconic wings are still intact.

In a statement, Megan Fox expressed her excitement about being part of the game, stating that it feels like Nitara is an extension of herself. She also acknowledged the popularity of Mortal Kombat, stating that it is one of the greatest video games of all time and a game that she and many others grew up playing.

The trailer for Nitara introduces some of her gameplay, showcasing her flight combos as well as a move where she places a blood seal on the ground, resulting in a buff. From the trailer, it seems that Nitara is a character who excels in close combat, utilizing her extending talons and even possessing an air dash, which is a rarity among Mortal Kombat fighters.

Interestingly, the trailer also includes a pre-battle interaction between Nitara and Kung Lao, where Kung Lao asks about the whereabouts of Jen/Jin’s body. This hints at the possibility of Kung Jin appearing in the game as a female character, though further details have yet to be revealed.

Megan Fox’s involvement in Mortal Kombat 1 marks the second consecutive game in which NetherRealm Studios has enlisted a celebrity to voice a non-guest character, following Ronda Rousey’s portrayal of Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11.

With the release of Mortal Kombat 1’s early access just around the corner, fans are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to finally play as Nitara and experience her unique fighting style in this highly acclaimed game.
