Jason Statham’s new Guy Ritchie movie skipping UK cinemas for Amazon release

Jason Statham’s upcoming action movie will skip UK and Ireland cinemas, instead heading straight for a streaming release on Amazon Prime Video from December this year.

Directed by Guy Ritchie and based on the French film Le Convoyeur, Wrath of Man sees the Fast & Furious star take on the mysterious Patrick Hill.

Also known as H, this enigmatic lead starts a new job at Los Angeles-based Fortico Securities following a deadly ambush on one of its armoured cars.

To his colleagues, including partner Bullet (Holt McCallany), H appears to be a quiet type, only interested in doing his job to earn a living. Yet, there is much more than meets the eye to Statham’s character.

When H and Bullet become the targets of an attempted robbery, H reveals his formidable skills. Not only is he an expert marksman who’s equally adept at hand-to-hand combat, H is fearless, ruthless and lethal.

But who is Statham’s character, truly? It turns out that H is an undercover crime boss desperately seeking revenge for the murder of his son.

His personal quest will cross paths with a cadre of ex-military men, led by the clever, calculating Jackson (Jeffrey Donovan) as they plot a once-in-a-lifetime heist that will bring them a windfall of millions.

This is Ritchie’s 12th movie, following Aladdin and The Gentlemen, both released in 2019. The Sherlock Holmes filmmaker will unite with Statham once again in Operation Fortune, an action movie currently in post-production and scheduled for a 2022 release.
