He doesn’t appear in the latest Marvel film.
But, Samuel L Jackson, 72, cosied up to Eternals co-stars Angelina Jolie, 46, and Salma Hayek, 55, for a cute off-duty snap, taken during a recent fun evening together.
The trio of megastars appeared with the movie’s director, Chloé Zhao, 39, and the film’s producer, Victoria Alonso, 55, in a bash hosted by the King of Cool at the end of October.
Posting the photo to her Instagram on Sunday, Salma wrote alongside: ‘With the eternally cool @samuelljackson and my @eternals sisters @angelinajolie @chloezhao @victoriaalonso76 [photo] by @samanthalopezs.
She also added the spanish translation: ‘Con el eternamente Sam Jackson y mis eternales hermanas @marvel.’
Mexican actress Salma plays Ajak in the new Marvel movie, who is depicted as the leader of the group of super-beings and the only one capable of communicating with their Celestial mentor Arishem.
Angelina plays Thena in Eternals, an elite warrior who can form any weapon out of pure cosmic energy, and develops a close bond with Gilgamesh over the centuries.
Samuel L Jackson has long portrayed Nick Fury, the founder of the Avengers, who frequently helps the team’s various superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Currently, the actor is working on Secret Invasion, a new series for Disney+ in which he reprises his role as Nick Fury.
Speaking about her new role, Salma told Variety: ‘It never crossed my mind to be in a Marvel movie. I guess that I thought that boat had sailed, and it was an absolute shock.’
The Eternals were created by comic book legend Jack Kirby in 1976, his first project after returning to Marvel following a well-publicized move to DC.
The story followed The Eternals, described as a sentient offshoot of the evolutionary process that created life on Earth as we know it.
They were created by The Celestials, who intended for The Eternals to defend Earth against their more nefarious counterparts, The Deviants.
