Dwayne Johnson’s Business Partner Reacts to Vin Diesel’s Fast Saga Return Plea

Dwayne Johnson's business partner Hiram Garcia reacts to Vin Diesel's plea for The Rock to return to The Fast Saga for Fast & Furious 10.

Dwayne Johnson’s business partner and Seven Bucks Productions president Hiram Garcia has reacted to Vin Diesel plea for The Rock to return to The Fast Saga for Fast & Furious 10.

“Look, you can never predict or control what’s going to come out of that world. So I’m very used to it by now,” Garcia told Screen Rant. “I think we’re both very used to it. I know. I haven’t been able to really connect with DJ on it because he’s been buried in promoting Red Notice. But yeah, I’m used to it. It’s what comes with that world. You get crazy curve balls thrown and you just roll with it.”

Johnson and Diesel infamously feuded during production on 2017’s The Fate of the Furious, which in turn led to The Rock stepping away from the main Fast Saga in favor of headlining the 2019 spinoff Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. The pair had seemingly buried the hatchet when Diesel publicly weighed in on their feud earlier this year, claiming it stemmed from him trying to improve Johnson’s acting through “tough love.” More recently, however, Diesel reached out to Johnson through social media, urging The Rock to “rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny” by coming back for The Fast Saga’s two-part finale.

“It’s the Fast family,” Garcia added. “Look, DJ’s the biggest movie star in the world. No one’s below trying all attempts and approaches to try and get him on board. So I appreciate it. You got to take your shot. You never know. I’m sure there’s a couple DMs that slid in there too. I’m sure he slid into the DMs as well.”

The Rock, for his part, previously stated that he won’t be reprising his role as Luke Hobbs for the last two main Fast & Furious movies, adding that he “laughed hard” at Diesel’s most recent comments about their feud. “I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that,” said Johnson. “And that I’ve wished them well. I wish them well on Fast 9. And I wish them the best of luck on Fast 10 and Fast 11 and the rest of the Fast & Furious movies they do that will be without me.”

Fast & Furious 10 opens in theaters on April 7, 2023.
