The Batman: Gal Gadot Gushes Over Zoë Kravitz, Teases Wonder Woman/Catwoman Team-Up
Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot praises new Catwoman Zoë Kravitz while teasing the possibility of teaming up with The Batman star in a crossover film.
Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot praised Zoë Kravitz, who plays Catwoman in the upcoming DC film The Batman, while also teasing the possibility of team-up between their comic book characters.
“…I love Zoë. She looks incredible. She’s a sweetheart. She’s a talented woman,” Gadot told Variety when asked if she had seen the latest trailer for The Batman. “And I’m so happy to have another female as a comrade.” When pitched a Wonder Woman/Catwoman crossover, Gadot said, “That’s a good question. We should ask [DC Films president] Walter Hamada. Actually, I’m going to write that in my notes to ask him.” Gadot also gave a shoutout to new Batman actor Robert Pattinson, saying he “looks amazing” as the Dark Knight, adding, “I love his voice and I love the whole tone of everything.”
It’s worth noting that Matt Reeves’ The Batman takes place outside of the DC Extended Universe, where Gadot’s version of Wonder Woman exists. Ben Affleck technically remains the current DCEU Batman, and he’ll reprise the role of Bruce Wayne in next year’s The Flash. Michael Keaton is also reprising his iconic role as the Caped Crusader in the forthcoming superhero movie.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. greenlit Wonder Woman 3 immediately following the release of Wonder Woman 1984 last year. The superhero sequel opened in select theaters at a time when the majority of cinemas were shuttered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it also debuted simultaneously on HBO Max, breaking viewership records for the streaming service at the time. “As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of Wonder Woman 1984, we are excited to be able to continue her story with our real-life Wonder Women — Gal and Patty — who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy,” Warner Bros. Pictures Group Chairman Toby Emmerich said.
Although plot details on Wonder Woman 3 are currently unknown, writer/director Patty Jenkins recently teased the return of Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman in the 1970s television series and cameoed in the sequel. Gadot also hyped the threequel earlier this year while commemorating the fourth anniversary of 2017’s Wonder Woman.
Audiences can catch Gadot next in Red Notice alongside Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson. The action romp, a new trailer for which dropped this week, will be released Nov. 12 on Netflix. Wonder Woman 3 has yet to receive a release date, while The Batman hits theaters March 4, 2022.
