WW84’s Gal Gadot & Patty Jenkins Share Their Dreamstone Wishes
Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot revealed what they would wish for if they came across the Dreamstone in real life.
Following the debut of Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters and on HBO Max, director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot revealed what they would wish for if they came across the Dreamstone in real life.
Jenkins responded to a fan on Twitter who asked the question with her answer, “That all of mankind was kinder, better and braver than they sometimes are.” Another fan asked a similar question of Gadot, which read, “What is one thing that, if you had the power to, you would change in the world?”
In her response, the actor wished, “To stop wars and climate change.”
In Wonder Woman 1984, Diana Prince and her friend Barbara Minerva discover the Dreamstone while working as anthropologists at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. The ancient artifact was forged by a trickster god and is revealed to contain the magic that grants those who touch it one wish. It’s revealed in the film, however, that every wish granted comes at a steep price.
Jenkins and Gadot shared their Dreamstone wishes amidst reports that HBO Max was pleased with the Christmas Day debut of Wonder Woman 1984, despite a handful of glitches experienced by subscribers. An HBO Max spokesperson reportedly stated that “HBO Max did not experience any significant disruptions,” and the streaming platform is currently working to resolve customer complaints on social media. While Warner Bros. has yet to share box office numbers, it’s also believed that Wonder Woman is doing well in international markets and theaters across the United States.
While it’s unconfirmed if Jenkins and Gadot will collaborate again on a third Wonder Woman film, the pair are reuniting for a Cleopatra film. Jenkins will direct and the script will be written by Laeta Kalogridis. Gadot will star as the Egyptian queen, Cleopatra.
After being delayed several times, Wonder Woman 1984 was the first blockbuster film to debut after the recent announcement by Warner Bros. that its entire film slate for 2021 would be released in theaters and on HBO Max simultaneously. As part of the rollout, new films will only be available for free on the streaming service for one month.
Directed and co-written by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film is now available in theaters and on HBO Max.
