Kendall Jenner Says She Asked for Her Friend’s Approval Before Wearing That Barely-There Dress to Her Wedding
The model’s longtime friend Lauren Perez added that she “loved” the look and thought Jenner looked “stunning” in it.

If the Kardashian-Jenner family were only to be remembered for one thing, it would probably be their ability to stir up some serious drama via their choice in scandalous attire. So naturally, when Kendall Jenner attended her best friend Lauren Perez’s wedding to David Waltzer last year, she did so in a risqué dress. But now, the bride has assured a very concerned public that she fully approves of her pal’s extremely sexy wedding party attire.
For Perez’s November 2021 ceremony, the model served as a bridesmaid along with Bella Hadid wearing matching long, blue silk dresses. But it was Jenner’s reception look that caused quite a stir. The reality star posted some photos of herself and Hailey Bieber getting ready for the after-party on her Instagram Stories at the time, showing herself wearing a little black dress from Mônot’s Spring 2022 collection composed of triangular flaps of fabric with huge cutouts in between that left most of her torso fully exposed. Many fans were shocked by Jenner’s racy outfit choice for a wedding, accusing her of being inappropriate or trying to upstage the bride.

Last week, Perez shared even more images from the event on her Instagram account, writing, “The greatest night of 2021! Happy New Year everyone!!!” The post once again had people up in arms over Jenner’s skin-baring attire, but the bride rushed to her friend’s defense. The newlywed social media influencer explained to one critic that she actually “loved” the look and thought the model looked “stunning” in it. Jenner also commented, clarifying, “@laurenperez obvi asked for your approval in advance too,” and added, “we love a beach wedding.” Perez has since turned off comments on that post.
While Jenner opted for the head-turning style, Perez kept her bridal look much more demure and traditional. For the Jewish ceremony held in Miami, she wore a strapless Vera Wang gown with a long-sleeve lace underlay before changing for the reception into a short, off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood dress which she paired with Nike Air Force 1s.
