As fans eagerly await AMC’s hit post-apocalyptic series to return from a mid-season break, Negan star reflected on some of the shows’ past characters. The Walking Dead actor admitted killing off Glenn Rhee (played by Steven Yeun) was a mistake.
The Walking Dead season 11 is set to be the final instalment of the horror series, after first premiering in 2010 the show will officially come to an end.
As of right now, fans are eagerly waiting for its return to screens as the show went on a mid-season break back in October 2021.
Thankfully, it will make its comeback with episode nine titled ‘No Other Way’ later this month.
As Negan star Jeffery Dean Morgan sat down with Insider for an interview, which was published Friday 11, he was filming the last two episodes of the series.

With this confirmation, Negan will likely survive the end of the finale the actor opened up about the characters which didn’t.
When asked what he would’ve done differently, he confessed: “I wouldn’t have killed Glenn.
“Yeah, that was probably a bad decision,” the actor reflected even though it was his character who put an end to Glenn’s life.
The brutal attack happened in season six after fans were convinced the character had died after being attacked by a horde of walkers.

However, the fan-favourite surprisingly survived, and sadly his comeback was very short-lived.
Although he lived until the next day, he succumbed to Negan’s weapon Lucille, after being chosen for being to be one of the Alexandria victims.
While Negan did the action, tons of fans actually blamed Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) as it was his outburst which caused Negan’s fit of rage.
Even though Morgan may regret Glenn’s death, the creator Robert Kirkman stated Glenn had to die for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie Rhee’s (Lauren Cohan) storylines to progress.
Glenn’s death took many fans by surprise as a majority of viewers were left heartbroken, which caused some to stop watching the series.
While this was the reality for viewers, it was the opposite for actor Yeun who starred as Glenn.
Speaking to Triple J in 2017, he said: “It’s twofold, it’s disgusting but we have seen disgusting on that show before.
“But it was just kind of so brutal too because it’s Glenn. My mum didn’t watch it, she refused.
“It’s too real. But for me I’ll be honest, I had a great time. To pretend to die is the best.”
Elsewhere he told Collider: “It was rough emotionally for me because I remember reading the comic book and seeing Glenn killed in the comic book, and I was really disturbed by how senseless it felt.”
Luckily for fans, they will get to see more of their favourite characters after The Walking Dead has ended as the franchise will have some major spin-offs.
Tales of the Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead is expected to premiere this year while a Carol and Norman spin-off is in the works.
