Gigi Hadid sweeps her platinum locks into a ponytail for NYC outing with Bella… after younger sister confessed she used to feel like the ‘uglier’ sibling
Gigi Hadid swept her platinum locks into a ponytail before emerging for her latest leggy outing in New York City this week.
The 26-year-old supermodel wrapped up in earth tones, adding an embroidered beige vest over a fluttering burnt-orange top.
She was accompanied during her latest outing by her younger sister Bella Hadid, who went for a fashionista spin on biker chic with jeans and a leather jacket.
Slipping into a khaki pair of high-waisted trousers, Gigi slung on an off-white handbag and rounded off the look with matching sneakers.
The Hadid sisters’ glamorous new sighting comes after Bella confessed in a viral interview that she used to feel like the ‘uglier’ sibling.
Bella attributed her insecurities in part to the trolling she got when she and Gigi exploded onto the celebrity scene.
They first rose to fame when their mother Yolanda Hadid was a Real Housewife Of Beverly Hills and then both daughters became models in their own right.
‘I was the uglier sister,’ Bella told the April issue of Vogue. ‘I was the brunette. I wasn’t as cool as Gigi, not as outgoing…that’s really what people said about me.’
She dished: ‘And unfortunately when you get told things so many times, you do just believe it…I always felt like I had something to prove.’
Bella declared: ‘People can say anything about how I look, about how I talk, about how I act. But in seven years I never missed a job, canceled a job, was late to a job. No one can ever say that I don’t work my a** off.’
When she was in high school she suffered from anorexia, which she attributed partly to the Adderall she was prescribed for what was thought to be ADHD.
The interview drew a storm of controversy when Bella revealed that she had a nose job when she was just 14 years old.
Social media erupted with anger at Yolanda for providing her daughter with cosmetic surgery at such a tender age.
Bella herself expressed regret about the procedure, saying: ‘I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors. I think I would have grown into it.’
Meanwhile Gigi, who shares her one-year-old daughter Khai with her ex Zayn Malik, herself recently graced the cover of Vogue Brazil for the fourth time.
Gigi has had an on-off relationship with Zayn reportedly since 2015 and they welcomed their little girl in September 2020.
News of their latest breakup went public last October amid Zayn’s explosive falling-out with Gigi’s reality star mother Yolanda.
Zayn and Yolanda allegedly had an altercation in September, and though he denied claims he was physically violent, he pled no contest to four harassment charges.
He cannot have any contact with Yolanda or the security guard who saw the incident, and must complete an anger management course and 360 days probation.
The fracas reportedly started when Yolanda entered Gigi and Zayn’s Pennsylvania home without Zayn’s permission while Gigi was in Paris for work.
Zayn was accused of having pushed Yolanda into a dresser and calling her a ‘f***ing Dutch s***,’ demanding she keep away from the baby.
It was also claimed he called Gigi and said: ‘Strap on some f***ing balls and defend your partner against your f***ing mother in my house.’
