Newcomers to the franchise include “Arrow” star Stephen Amell as the masked vigilante Casey Jones, Tyler Perry as scientist Baxter Stockman, and Brian Tee as the new Shredder. Though they remain uncast, it was recently confirmed that villains Bebop and Rocksteady will appear in the sequel.
The original film, which grossed more than $485 million at the worldwide box office, also starred Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Danny Woodburn, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub, although their involvement has not yet been confirmed for the sequel.
UPDATE: In related news, THR brings word that Academy Award-nominated actress Laura Linney has joined the cast of the film in an undisclosed role.
