Megan Fox Is More Like Angelina Jolie Than She Cares to Admit: “I Don’t Have a Ton of Female Friends”
Megan Fox has often been compared to Angelina Jolie, much to the actress’ chagrin. Striking physical similarities aside, it appears the movie stars have yet another thing in common: they aren’t queen bees.
“I consider myself a ‘girl’s girl’ in that I’m not competitive, jealous, or catty,” the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actress, 28, says in Cosmopolitan‘s August 2014 issue. “But I don’t have a ton of female friends—I have one. Her name is Mindy and she’s a facialist. I don’t have many guy friends, either. I’ve never been a social butterfly. I don’t feel lonely or isolated. I have one really great friend and that’s all I need.”
Though Fox once called comparisons to Jolie “a lack of creativity on the media’s part,” Jolie made a similar revelation in Marie Claire‘s January 2012 issue. “I have a few girlfriends. I just…I stay at home a lot,” Brad Pitt‘s fiancée said. “I don’t do a lot with them, and I’m very homebound.” The Oscar winner, 39, added, “I talk to my family. I talk to Brad… But I don’t know, I don’t have a lot of friends I talk to.”
Perhaps the working moms might consider forging a friendship?
Elsewhere in her Cosmopolitan interview, Fox discusses female empowerment and being a “hot mom.”
“When I’m working, I refuse to flirt. If someone tries, it becomes an endless roast. I’ll say, ‘Nice beard, buddy’ or ‘You look fancy!’ I know he’s spent an hour doing that specific thing to his hair, and the minute I point it out, his game is shattered,” says Fox, who has two sons with Brian Austin Green. “I like to have men off their guard. Then you are in charge. You don’t ever have to feel like men have power over you.”
Fox owns the “hot mom” title, even if it’s not something she would ever call herself publicly.
“There’s a power that comes with having a child. You’ve done something incredible that no man could ever do or understand,” the Jonah Hex star says. “It is hard to resist letting yourself fall apart physically, because when you’re taking care of a child with little or no help, there isn’t time to take care of you.”
Sharing an example of how kids became her priority, Fox says, “I just did Ellen the other day and realized I hadn’t had a manicure in seven months. I had these Rihanna-like claws, but they were my toenails!”
