Born in Beirut, Lebanon, the actor did not have an easy life. He was brought up by only his mother with great difficulty and had three stepfathers. The actor could not complete his education due to dyslexia and unmanaged anger. He always had a keen interest in acting and started doing theatre at the age of 9. He was also good at hockey but could not pursue it further due to a knee injury. Reeves made his movie debut with One Step Away, but it did not work much in his favor. He went on to do several teenage movies. He broke through the lovelorn teenage roles with the movie Point Break (1991).

The actor became a highly recognized name with Speed, where he starred alongside Sandra Bullocks. His career skyrocketed with the movie The Matrix in 1999. When he started earning handsomely, his sister was diagnosed with Leukaemia. At that time donated large sums to cancer charities and organizations.

Keanu Reeves also suffered a personal loss with the demise of his newborn and ex-girlfriend. The actor was reportedly depressed and took a break from acting. He was seen at random public places and his acts of kindness were shared by fans on social media. People described him as sweet, polite, and a good listener.
