DC is currently going through a revamp under Peter Saffron and James Gunn, many films have been scraped from the previously decided slate. Meanwhile, completely new actors and superheroes are being introduced with the upcoming five-year slate for the studio. Earlier Wonder Woman’s third film of the series has been scrapped alongside Superman and Batman solo films, but now reports have revealed otherwise.

Fans were more than happy when reports revealed that Gal Gadot is not done playing Wonder Woman yet. Earlier this year, after the reports of Superman getting a reboot took the internet by storm, it didn’t take long for reports of other Justice League actors to come out. First it was revealed that Henry Cavill will not be returning as Superman after his appearance in Black Adam.
Then reports revealed Patty Jenkins will not be working on Wonder Woman 3 and Gal Gadot will not be returning in the superhero role as the film “did not fit in” with newly appointed DC Studios heads. However, in the follow up releases like Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash, Gal appeared in her superhero avatar alongside Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman, confusing people around the future of her character.
Now the actress during an interview with ComicBook.com Gadot said that she is still part of the franchise and will be developing Wonder Woman 3 together with Gunn and Safran. It seems director Patty Jenkins is the only one who will not be returning to the franchise after Wonder Woman 1984.
Talking about playing the role for third time she said, “I love portraying Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”
Meanwhile, no Wonder Woman film has been announced in the current slate of DC releases. One projected called Gods and Monsters is likely to mention her but it may not necessarily bring her character back into focus. On the other hand, Gunn previously hinted at his interest in developing a Wonder Woman animated series.

Another titled announced includes A Paradise Lost, set to be a series on HBO Max about the Amazons on Themiscyra. While it seems like the right place to have Gal Gadot in the center of the story, but it is set to release as a show. While, Gal has confirmed a film to complete her trilogy.
The end of Wonder Woman 1984 showed Diana giving up on her love, and the follow up film could see her deal with the grief of being left behind. Her cameos also confirmed that she is in touch with Justice League buddies and could see them all coming together to take down a villain.
Gal during her interaction also revealed that she was aware about the new casting of Superman and Lois Lane but didn’t know who had been cast. It could also hint at her teaming up with the new cast in her upcoming film.
