While promoting her new book of poetry, Megan Fox is reflecting on what she would have done differently.
At a Q&A for Pretty Boys Are Poisonous on Tuesday in New York City, the Jennifer’s Body star admitted she regrets being so focused on monogamy in her 20s after a fan asked what advice she’d give her 22-year-old self.
“I would have lived out my Leonardo DiCaprio phase,” Fox joked, according to People. “I’d have dated all those little TikTok boys.”
In all seriousness, Fox said that she would have given herself more “grace,” adding: “I should be more kind to myself.
Fox — who got engaged to Machine Gun Kelly last January — was married to Brian Austin Green from 2010 to 2021 after they began dating when she was 18 and he was 30. They share sons Noah, 11, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 7.
In Pretty Boys Are Poisonous, Fox opens up about a previous abusive relationship (without naming her abuser) and suffering a miscarriage.
“These poems were written in an attempt to excise the illness that had taken root in me because of my silence,” she wrote in August while announcing the book. “I’ve spent my entire life keeping the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the weight of their sins.”
Fox added, “My freedom lives in these pages, and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and their identity by using their voice to illuminate what’s been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness.”
